Automatically Download & Generate Attendance Record in Ingress and TCMS V3

Ingress and TCMS V3 are FingerTec’s complementary software serving different purposes. Ingress software are generally used with access control devices like R2, Kadex and Q2i and TCMS V3 is for time attendance readers such as TA100C, AC100C and TA500. In Ingress and TCMS V3, there is an option to automatically download the transactions from the terminals and generate the attendance record straight in the software. This article will discuss and elaborate about this settings and on how to configure Ingress and TCMS V3 with auto download transaction.

To view the transaction data, the process is to download the transaction data from the terminal into the software and generate its attendance data, in-out records and reports. It can be done manually or automatically via TCP/IP connection or by using USB flash disk if there is no network connection available.
With the automatic download interval function, you can configure the software to download the transaction automatically. You can determine the preferred time and the time interval for the downloads. With this option, you can view your daily report directly in Report option or send the report using Report Scheduler without having to wait for the download process to complete and generate the transaction log manually.

You can find this option on both Ingress and TCMS V3 at System Settings > System Parameter Settings > Server tab.

In Ingress: 

Basically, there are 3 main options you can set to use this function:
1. Server Download Transaction Log Interval:
Set the time interval to download transaction logs from devices automatically. The administrator can set the download process duration to repeat; for example every 15 minutes during the peak time. To disable this option, you need to set it to 00:00.

2. Specify daily download timer for system to activate the automatic download process every day: 
Set up to a maximum of 2 daily timers to run auto-download transaction logs from the devices. An example, if you set the time of download at 10:30 and 16:00, the software will perform the download process at exactly 10:30am and 4:00pm every day.

3. Server Generate Audit Data Interval: 
Set the time interval for TCMS V3 and Ingress  to generate the raw data to be updated into Attendance Sheet accordingly.

If you wish to delete the data after the download process, there is an option to do just that and as for new features, user may choose to "Download Attendance photo" during auto download is running.

Also, when you activate the ‘Perform daily download when PC is powered on’ option, the transaction data in the terminal will download accordingly through the automatic download interval time as long as the computer is powered on. In other words, even if the TCMS V3 or Ingress is not running, the transaction data will still be downloaded into the database.

The most important thing when user configure automatic download in the software is to always ensure Ingress/TCMSv3 service is always running ( Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services ) as these 2 services play an important part to make sure automatic download is running.

    i have problem on downloading transaction logs from terminal. first, very slow in downloading from five terminals. second, some transaction logs were not downloaded, i need to re-download again. third, the terminals keep advancing time with 7mins every 11.53AM. we are using tcms v3. please help

    Regarding on your issue with TCMSv3 Software.

    1.System is downloading data from 1 by 1 terminal and it refers to the total transaction available in the device. If you have many transaction data stored in the device, system will take times to check either the data is downloaded or not.

    After successfully data downloaded, it will show the total new transaction was downloaded into Software.

    2. then for the some transaction data not downloaded, you can compare all the data in device and in data audit list using FT Device info tool.

  3. I need to have at least 4 daily timers for auto-downloading of transaction logs from devices. How can this be done, pls?

      Good day to you.

      Regarding your inquiry to set at least 4 daily timers for auto download, please note that there is no option to set exact time to auto download until 4 time as Fingertec software only allow up to 2 specific time to run auto download transaction.

      However, you may use another option which is to set "Server download Transaction Log Interval". For example, your working hour per day is 8 hours,then you may set it to run every 2 hours. So, if your computer is turn on and TCMv3 services is running, auto download function will run based on the setting that you have set.

      With regards to your query, to download transaction log in TCMSv3, go to Scheduling & Attendance tab > Attendance sheet > Download button.

      Fter that, you may generate attendance sheet using Generate button.

  5. We are using our product more than 5 years. Recently we have upgrade TCMS to ingress application.

    Now not able to export and print the monthly attendance sheet. Kindly guide us at earliest.

    1. Hi Syaz,

      Please make sure that you already add the device, in order to let the software activate and you can access all the setting from the software. If you already add the device, but still same, you can try to update your software to the latest version by download the installer from this link:

      Make sure you backup your database, uninstall the software from control panel, and install the latest version from the link given.

  7. Hi We recently added another time-clock to our environment and in the process upgraded to TCMSv3. So we have two clocks in total. I have both devices connected to the software and if i keep real time monitoring open I will see the system capture punches from both devices. However when I attempt to run any time card report or daily attendance, the system reports no record found.

      Regarding on your problem, do you able to see any check in and check out data appear in the attendance sheet? Because attendance sheet and report is related, if no data shown in the attendance sheet, report also cannot show any data. So please double check your schedule setting in TCMSv3 Software, after that please open the attendance and generate attendance sheet for all users.

      If you still facing the same issue after generating attendance sheet, please provide us below details:
      1. TCMSv3 Software version (Click TCMV3 icon > about US)
      2. Backup your TCMSv3 database and forward to for futher checking.

      With regards to your query, if you want to print report in pdf format, after generating report, you may click on export icon,then choose pdf file. ( refer this screenshot for the icon location :

      After exporting to pdf format, you may proceed to print your report accordingly.

    We are currently using fingertec ingress within our company but recently when the new started i am not able to download any attendance log when i download from our time clock device. Would you be able to know what the issue may be?

    1. Hi,

      First, please make sure the clocking device has been connected and activated in the Ingress software. Ingress server has to be turned on for auto download.

      Then, you have to ensure that the Attendance Service, Ingress Service and MySQL Service are running at your PC.

      If you are unable to download even after activated the device, please proceed to manual download the clocking data from Attendance module. Please make sure the data is 100% downloaded.
